About

Me and my Contrabass flute, custom built by Jelle Hogenhuis.

Musician, composer, arranger,
IT Solution Manager.

I studied flute with Bengt Christiansson, Stig Bengtson and Lennart Ehrenlood, piano with Håkan Sund and Carl-Axel Dominique and composition and counterpoint with Svante Widén at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Since graduating in 1989 I’ve been working as a musician in many chamber music projects as well as a music director and arranger for musicals and theatre shows in the Stockholm area. My flute and EWI playing has been heard in numerous movies and TV series through the longtime collaboration with composer Elia Cmiral. As a pianist/keyboardist/flutist and composer I have travelled around Scandinavia’s jazz clubs and festivals with, among others, George “Jojje” Wadenius band and also recorded with Jojje on his albums of songs for children (among others “Zoppa” that won the Swedish grammy awards prize for best music for children album of the year in 1999).

Between 1999 and 2015 I spent most of my working hours as a school leader/headmaster at Kulturama (school of performing arts and media) and since 2015 I’m an employee at City of Stockholm working with Digital Strategy & Development.

More recently I’ve gained familiarity with the repertoire for flute ensemble as a member of “Mälardalens Flöjtensemble” playing alto flute, bass flute and contrabass flute. This constellation is also the vehicle for trying out my arrangements for this very rare but wonderful ensemble form.

My arrangements for flute ensemble as well as for other settings can be bought here, check out the Publications page.
